Toy Biz International 2025 to Showcase India’ Toy Export Growth

India’s toy industry is witnessing strong growth, with exports rising by 239 percent in FY23 compared to FY15. As the sector gains global attention, Toy Biz International 2025 is set to take place from July 4-7, 2025, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, organized by the Toy Association of India (TAI).
The event is expected to attract over 10,000 buyers from 25 countries, including major players like Walmart Inc, Hamleys India, Lulu Group International, and Landmark Group. It will also feature over 350 Indian brands.
The B2B expo will highlight the country’s growing role as a preferred sourcing destination, especially as global buyers seek alternatives to China and Southeast Asia. The shift is driven partially by the United States imposing 25 percent tariffs on Chinese toys and tightening scrutiny on Southeast Asian imports.
India has introduced several policy changes to support its local industry. These include raising import duties from 20 percent to 60 percent and enforcing mandatory Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification to ensure quality. As a result, toy imports have dropped by more than 70 percent between FY19 and FY24, while exports rose over 60 percent.
Pawan Gupta, Former Vice President, TAI, stated that India now stands firmly on the global radar as a high-quality toy manufacturing hub. He added that rising global demand and a supportive policy landscape are helping Indian companies scale up, with a focus on innovation and safety.
Lastly, Gupta pointed out that the Indian toy market is among the fastest growing in the world, projected to reach US$ 3 billion by 2028, growing at a CAGR of 12 percent.
