Green Priorities Steer Baramati Industrial Dialogue

Baramati’s industrial belt charts a green course with an exclusive seminar on ‘Industrial Issues and Solutions: Managing Solid Waste, Effluents, and Air Pollution’ at Hotel Royal Inn, Baramati - Maharashtra. Organized by Baramati Industrial Development Association (BIDA) in association with Hyderabad International Trade Expositions Ltd (HITEX) on July 30, 2025, the event was a much-needed platform for collaborative solutions and an exchange of fresh ideas to address the growing environmental and infrastructure requirements of the region. 


As part of the HITEX’s India Process Expo & Conference (IPEC) and Eco-Sustain Expo (ESE) 2025 scheduled for August 22-24 at HITEX Exhibition Center, Hyderabad, the seminar featured speakers representing various Government departments and private enterprises in the presence of association leaders, exhibitors, delegates, and other stakeholders. The event was opened by G John Sudheer, Own Shows, Assistant General Manager, HITEX, setting the tone for the evening, touching upon the importance of having a cleaner and smarter industrial development.

Some of the main speakers included Hanumant Patil, Regional Officer, Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC); Vijay Petkar, Executive Engineer, MIDC; Kartikey Langote, Sub-Regional Officer, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB); Kishor Mane, Block Development Officer, Panchayat Samiti Baramati; Khanduji Gaikwad, Vice President, Cottonking – MIDC Baramati; Vijay Mahajan, Project Head, Senvion Wind Technology Pvt Ltd – MIDC Baramati; Kiran Choudhari, HR Head, Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd – MIDC Baramati; and Hanumant Jagtap, Project Head, Schreiber Dynamix Dairies Pvt Ltd – MIDC Baramati.

Public-Private Synergy in Action
As the industries flourish and urbanize at a rapid pace, the environmental stakes rise accordingly, posing challenges in waste management, effluent treatment, and air quality. This seminar was a celebration of progress and dialogue, bringing together leading experts to present practical solutions, policy insights, and innovative technologies that will support industry compliance and foster sustainable practices. An essential conversation not just for the enterprises, but for the well-being of future generations.

Driving the core agenda was Dhananjay Jamdar, President, BIDA, who received warm appreciation for his leadership in representing over 500 industries in the region. Under his guidance, BIDA has actively built bridges between industry and Government, promoting skilling, entrepreneurship, and meaningful industrial dialogue.

The Faces Fueling Baramati’s Growth
Among the keynote speakers was MIDC’s Hanumant Patil, who highlighted Baramati’s achievements in land allotment, infrastructure expansion, and investment facilitation—within the MIDC estates. Joining him was Petkar, whose deep engineering insight has helped ensure compliance with technical and environmental standards across industrial projects.

A critical environmental outlook was introduced by Langote, backed by his experience of around three decades in regulation and pollution control. He went on to advocate environmental norms and regulations in addition to cleaner, greener practices. Industry-rural integration was captured by Block Development Officer Mane, who stressed aligning local development according to the needs of industry.

From the private sector, Cottonking’s Gaikwad highlighted rural employment, eventually supporting seamless regional industrial growth. Echoing similar sentiments, Piaggio Vehicles’ Choudhari also shared insights on empowering local talent through inclusive HR practices and organizational strategy. Senvion Wind Technology’s Mahajan shed light on actionable sustainable energy solutions, energizing Baramati’s green industrial transformation.

Providing different yet valuable insights, Schreiber Dynamix Dairies’ Jagtap (Schreiber Dynamix Dairies) focused on strengthening cold-chain logistics for the region’s food industry.

Eyes on a Greener Horizon
Sudheer concluded the event by extending a special thanks to all the contributors, who enriched the very course of discussion. With networking prevailing through the event, a sense of purpose was restored, with people driven towards collectively uplifting not only Baramati but India as a whole towards a greener, resilient, and innovative-oriented industrial future.

Concurrently held, India Process Expo & Conference 2025 to host 101 exhibitors with attendees from 12 states and 27 cities. Championing the spirit of entrepreneurship, HITEX provides highly subsidized stalls for startups and innovation-driven young companies to showcase their novel ideas.
